Replying to What size skis for 5 foot 8 155lbs?

So my buddy is very new to skiing and this upcoming season will be his first full season. He figures he will buy a set of skis to get into skiing the local terrain park and asked for my help.

He is 5’8” (173cm) and 155 lbs, and he is very new to skiing. He wants a set of centre mounted twin tips. I thought for a beginner skier he could drop the ski length 10cm from his height (163cm). So would 165cm skis do the trick?

Any recommendations, also on bindings. Thanks guys.
