HELP MY FATHER (Candide 5.0 mounting point)

Here i come (again).
So my father bought himself a pair of candide 5.0 in 183 cm.

He wheighs 72 kg and is 179 cm tall. He has candide 3.0 as his daily driver, he loves it for his light feeling and quick and intuitive feel, he mount them at the candide line.

His 5.0 is still virgin of any binding and one question remains. Where to mount it? Candide line or recommended line ?

Looking forward to some returns by some guys who skied it!

If he likes the CT 3.0 on the Candide line, I'd go with the Candide line on the 5.0. The 5.0 has a pretty big sweet spot and that mount point should feel familiar to him.

Mount at the candide line. the all mountian line is pointless.

Man I am stuck on where to mount the 5.0's. I bought a pair of 190cm 5.0's last week. I got a pair of Nocta's two seasons ago, and Shiro's two seasons before that. The Nocta's are collecting dust still and the old Shiro's are the daily driver. Shiro's are so sick, playfullness / full rockered feel is basically what I am aiming for. The Noctas are dead to me - not playfull, nothing like a full rocker that I was hoping to buy.

The worry I have with the candide mount, is that the Nocta's felt mounted too far forward, and I would of mounted them further back if I could do it again. And from what I understand the Candide line is more forward than the all mountain line ?

If youve got these mounted at the candide line, do you think that is more 'slarvy' than the all mountain line? I do not care at all what they ski like on groomers, I can handle however they ski on groomer, given the playfullness / rocker action is maxed elsewhere.

I skied the green 5.0 at the all mountain line, couldn’t stand they way they skied in the trees. Remounted then at like +4 or +5 (it was a an early sample so there was no CT line) and skied them the next day and they were amazing. Then I had the Black 5.0 (19/20) and mounted them on the CT line printed line, was perfect.

Overall not really a slarvy ski, they have a fairly traditional sidecut, but they are playful given they’re camber/ rocker profile. These are flat camber underfoot, with tip and tail rocker

yea it seems like the full rockers went out a few seasons ago. I checked out all the line ups this year and narrowed it down to a few that were full / flat. figured flat was close enough to get the loose pivot you get on a Shiro. but I guess we will see. Man it is impossible to demo good skis !

you seem pretty confident on the Candide line. You don't worry too much about re-drilling if you need to ?
you ever ski the shiros ? I would buy a new pair if I could find them

I had a pair of K2 hellbents break right underfoot a few weeks after I did that, years ago , from edge to edge under the heel

I never skied the shiros, but had the last year (14/15?) of the gotamas. Those were either flat camber or full rocker. Not as wide as the 5.0 or the Shiro, but a great fucking ski.

no problem with redrilling, the phenol plate will do a good job with retention. But you won’t want to once you ski it at that line. The 19/20 3.0 and all 20/21 CT skis only get a CT line :)
