The god of skiing: Tom wallisch or henrick harlaut?
well i think Tom has more "originality" than Henrik, basically because he was with 4bi9 before Henrik, and Henrik was relatively unknown. remember when Harlaut was sponsored by Scott (helmets, goggles, poles) and he also had Salomon but only for outerwear ( G-suit, Magik suit) and he was riding for Ninthward skis, sure maybe he had more influence in europe, but when he got over to the americas, i think Wallisch help cultivate his gangster forum. both skiers are legends! but IMHO Tom takes the cake for me
Wallisch is a god damn technician and pioneered/perfected the bang but Henrik injected heavy doses of style and variety to freestyle. Not sure if there's one that comes out on top in this scenario, but they both have definitely been essential to the sport's progression so we're talking polytheism.
I would not put either anywhere near that status. For people who are park/urban focused I guess those guys are near the top, I don't see either of those guys as anywhere near Daron Rahlves, Sage, Shane, Candide, Richard Permin, Kye Peterson.....I could go on forever.
I did like seeing Henrik skiing an AK line in his movie, I hope he goes more in that direction. I would say Henrik Windstedt is much more of a skiing deity than Harlow. Windstedt is legitimately one of the greatest all-around skiers ever to walk the earth.

Daron Rahlves, Henrik Windstedt, Richard Permin.... yeah bud, I have no doubt you could keep naming ex-racers and mediocre ex-park riders who turned to big mountain that haven't done shit for skiing other than dropping a few mild MSP or WM segments... so innovative... so inspiring....

I met this older dude on a lift at Sierra at Tahoe the past season. He had a wife and a couple kids who one of the kiddies was riding up to. Real nice guy who explained how he tries to ride as much as possible.
The dudes who still get after it with all of life's responsibilities are the real Goats. But for the sake of argument Henrik is better.
I think Tom is a better rail rider but he wouldn’t be able to compete with Henrik in a competition similar to xgames slopestyle due to Henrik being better overall and better in the air
Both Tom and Henrik are fun to watch and have made major impacts in the world of skiing, but they haven't come close to what Candide has been able to accomplish (and continues to accomplish)

You don't appreciate Candide because you don't appreciate REAL skiing on REAL mountains on REAL snow on REAL jumps on REAL cliffs. Not halfpipe. Not slopestyle. Not rail jams, this ain't rollerblading...this is REAL skiing.

Candide has been making waves in skiing probably before you were even born. There's so much more to him than just the One of Those Days-videos. He's a legend among legends, even TWall listed him as one of his biggest influences.
