But yeah, getting old, ugly, and dying is a pretty common thing.

i'd go as far as to say, you might be experiencing a existential awareness. how you perceive people i.e. looks, figure, finance, personality, those "check marks" have a direct correlation as to how unconsciously unaware one is and that the subconscious mind feeds off the inability to discern actuality from fantasy. how you view yourself is how you view the world. i think with over time the chemical process that precede every thought, changes drastically in time, no wonder people say "wow i cant believe i dated her when i was 16, i was so blind!".....the chemical reactions have fired so many neurons, that over the course on 5yrs, you have a completely different view, however if one has a high cognitive dissonance then one becomes indoctrinated with their own ignorance. tell me, how do you know you're dead?, time is an abstract measurement and we only perceive reality with 5 basic senses, to say we experience 'time' as linear progression, is propostureus! time only is viable with a society consistently ignorant with their own awareness. next time you're around family/friends pay attention to why people converse, they only listen to reply, not to understand. entertainment is easier than education, just look at society. paying for college, being in debt 30k and yet everyone has their favorite sports team and their undesirables

I'd prefer to think I'm going to live forever because technology will advance us to a point where we can escape the cruel fate of death.

The thought of death actually terrifys me and gives me anxiety. Perhaps it's just that I've always though of death as the absence of consciousness. Like when you fall asleep and don't remember your dream.

Don't get me wrong I know no one is immune to death, but I prefer to live in my fantasy world and take good care of my body.

The shittiest part is I've heard the concept of downloading your conciousness into a computer to live forever, but my thought on that is even if you do that it's still not you. It's just a copy of your thought process and memories. What I'm hoping for is the ability to restore our biological cells so you can just reverse the aging process and defeat the process of aging that way. I just hope that type of shit doesn't make zombies...

I think I may have thought about the subject of death far too much for someone who is terrified of it...

Sorry if I bummed anyone out. I feel like just talking about death in general has that effect on people.
