I personally don't like a helmet. Learned to ski without one and now I'm just a stubborn fucker in his late 20s. That being said I do see myself buying one for the coming season because ive pushed my skiing to the point where it would be a good idea.

If I had a kid I'd put a lid on him...then psyche him up for the booter I'm about to push his ass off into.

i keep telling myself that im gonna start wearing my helmet. end of last season i whipped the back of my head down so hard that my goggle lenses came out of the frames so i really might start wearing it this time

Feel like is this for sure a personal thing but imo there’s no reason I shout compromise for safety. I don’t have an excuse so might as well where one. I’ve got one brain.

I wear the Poc receptor bug adjustable. Was the first helmet I got, in college, and liked it so on my second one now. You can find them on sale for $50ish bucks. My brother has a smith helmet and it's pretty sick looking

dodnt wear it cause it didn’t look cool I’m a lucky idiot
I wear a smith quantum mips, it’s comfy , warm vents well keeps wind outta me goggles , I like how it looks and the year before I got it I took a simple slow speed spill hit my head and had headaches for a long time , I was lethargic for two days , couldn’t imagine being a tomato instead of still living life as I do bc I did t wear a helmet

it’s not gonna save you from everything but it could quite likely make a huge difference in an outcome pro or not

If you keep telling yourself to wear one why the fuck don't you wear one. If you don't want to it's whatever, but if you want to what is the reason not to? Most of the kids these days rock helmets whether their parents or freestyle programs require it. Not a cool or uncool think just a do or don't.

I've broken 1 completely in half and fucked another up decently. I'm sure they've saved me from some shit. Also have some bad head injuries that I'm forever fucked from so I'll always have mine on out there.

I was a no helmet wearer for quite some time growing up, didnt think to much on it until I hit my head on a tree years back and it rung my bell. It opened my eyes a little bit in a way, I wear a helmet riding my dirt bike, I wear one riding my road bike(state law), why am I not wearing one while skiing. I started wearing one back in 2000 and havent looked back. Now that I am older and have health insurance, some insurances wont cover your injury if you arent wearing a helmet. They cant deny you health coverage for it but they can make you pay ALL the bills that are related to it. Wearing a helmet not only protects that thing that makes you function everyday but can also keep you out of some serious debt.

POC. Im sure Smith has upped their helmet game along with other brands but I blew up a Maze model helmet back in 2011 and fucked me up real good, still dealing with a lot of issues that concussions/TBI's bring and probably will as life goes on. Oh well.

Brain protection should never be a touchy subject though.

Dude, I hate wearing a helmet but I finally quit being an idiot and copped the highest tech I could find, scott symbol 2 plus d. Fucker cost me $150, but it retails for $220 so I did ok.

Just last year, I was driving up to the mountain with some buddies, just talking all this shit on their helmets (they don’t ride park at all, or really go big ever). I’m the only one there who can even land a 180 and they’re all comparing safety features, I was just clowning them. FIRST run, I’m just bombing super fast and I see my friend down below me start waving up at me frantically. I look down and there are two red marker poles that are knocked over in the snow like 5 feet ahead of me, but I’m charging so it’s too late to do anything. I don’t know what hazard they were marking, but my skis went right under the rope that was holding them together, and I did the most perfect-form scorpion faceplant you could imagine. Luckily there was like a foot of fresh and no actual hazard, so I didn’t catch any damage, beyond a rung bell and a sore neck...but if that hazard had actually been a rock, your boy would be corking into the clouds of heaven/flames of hell right now.

I've had too many falls where I would have split my head open without a helmet to not wear one/seen too many bad accidents/heard too many stories

there are no valid reasons to not wear a helmet

I wear a shell with little foam pieces so it stays on my head, I have an actual helmet for when I'm doing something ballsy.
