theabortionatorWoah. Whats wrong with Dan?
Prolly the only stuff I hated was the super hipstery "folk" bastardization of the banjo. Oh man, lets dree like we're from the civil war and banjo, yeah lets get a banjo. Even if we cant play it well be soo much cooler.
Idk. Ive been to plenty of small traditional bluegrass fests where everyone was over 50 or under 10 pretty much. And then seen plenth of jamgrass etc stuff.
Im trying to make it to the jeff austin tribute in denver on my way west this year. Lineup is killer. Stoked I rages the fuck out of the latenoght at wwg last year with leftover salmon, billy strings, and jeff.
Greenskys hype is a little annpying but Ive loved those guys since 2010-11 when they started showing up at more fests and touring the northeast.
Trampled by turtles are sick imo but I can understand why people might not dig them. I like his writing style, they have a good sound, and their shows are fairly consistent.
Idk there's room for everyone imo. Bela fleck fucking rips and that's not traditional bluegrass if even bluegrass. Dudes done some sweet projects.
Del and anyone that plays with him always crushes.
I dig blue highway for newer bands that have a more traditional sound. Good songwriting.
Idk i live bluegrass even though i cant play the banjo or mando for shit
Monsieur_PatateWhat would you guys recommend to someone who doesn't know anything about bluegrass but is interested in giving it a listen?
theabortionatorReally depends but I'll throw you a couple different things
