Remounting Pivot Bindings

If I have Pivot 18s on my park set up and I put them on my powder skis could I remount a pair of Pivot 14s where the 18s holes are? I don’t feel like taking both pairs to the shop. Is that a smart decision or is my head guacamole?

I don't know the answer to your question about the hole pattern but if they do line up, as is the case with Attack 16s and 13s, recounting is a very simple operation.

Get some high quality waterproof wood glue and make sure you torque the screws properly. I actually bought a torque driver off ebay specifically for this though it's come in handy quite a number of times...bike components, roof racks, so far.

typically you do not want to reuse the same holes. That said, im sure many have without issue. Main thing would be to use the same screws and hand tighten so they match the threads.

I ALWAYS reuse holes if I can and have NEVER had an issue. I had a pair of rossi slats I put like 4 different pairs of fks on and off and after the initial mount I never used wood glue and always reused the same holes. Lasted 3 seasons. Reused heel holes on my HGs and they are holding perfectly.
My advice is use the same holes with wood glue and if you use a drill go super slow then hand tighten the ends till they are snug. listen closely for crackling sounds especially towards the end, this could mean you are about to strip the hole.
Don't pay or go through the hassle of redrilling your skis, you are good unless your BSL changed

Just use some wood glue and the original screws if you can to make sure the threads line up. Epoxy of any sort will be unnecessary and could make this process not possible in the future if need be. Also as others have said, hand tightening definitely will keep you from over tightening so I’d recommend that

I’ll reuse the hardware. Is there any difference between the look 14s and 18s hardware? Would I have to snatch up another set to mount the 18s again?

just make sure the old threads arent stripped. May need to helicoil if they are

To add visual confirmation to this thread, the heels are the same parts with the same mount pattern, just different springs & din indicator windows. The toes are obviously quite different but their hole pattern is the same. See below:



To add to the reusing holes conversation, if there was no water ingress in the previous mount and you were careful when taking the bindings off you should be able to wood glue the new bindings on into the same holes as long as you do it carefully and don’t strip the threads in the holes.
Even if you do and end up with a spinner screw you can always get it helicoiled.
