FogdartAnyone who says it's censorship is wrong. See the link I posted earlier in the thread. It was a mutual decision by the founder and current operating owners of the site to take it down. End of story.
Additionally as someone already said, it's a private company who owns a site, and they can keep it up or take it down for whatever fucking reason they want to. Whether it's politically or morally based or both, it doesn't matter.
If Microsoft suddenly said fuck it, gamers blow, they could shut down xbox live and ain't shit anyone could do about it. But they wouldn't because they would lose so much money. Same goes for YouTube and Facebook where so much filth, propaganda, and extremism exists and transmits through. 8chan shut down probably isn't costing much to the owner, and shit the positive PR might even help them. It's probably a bigger risk to keep it active.

Which he's not even obligated to do but since there's unilateral support from compromised members of our government to squash free speech he's volunteered to keep it down so they can't blame more shootings on free speech.
