Help with renewing my passport FAST

Alright guys, so here's the thing, I fucked up. I leave Alaska to drive back down to Montana for school in 9 days, and I didn't realize that my passport had expired in July, and I also haven't gotten the new "real ID" yet that supposedly lets you drive through Canada and Mexico from the US. So basically, I need a new passport before the 14th. There isn't a passport agency where I live, so I'm doubtful that I'll get luxury of expedited shipping that's faster than 3 weeks. I'm going to the DMV tomorrow morning to get my "real ID", but I don't think that I'l have it in time. Has anyone ever had any experience with any of the 3rd party passport agencies that charge 300-500 dollars for 24 hour passport services? I really don't wanna pay that much, but I will if need be. Or has anyone ever been in a situation similar to this? Just wanna know if I'm completely boned and need to start looking into plane tickets

I used Fastport Passport Services when I was in a crunch and got it w/in a few business days. That said it was pricey.. You can expedite thru the govern. too for less money but I'm not sure how quick they can get it pushed thru.

If you are going to spend that kind of money, fly. That time frame and the time you need to drive that distance, flying seems to be the answer once you have your current ID. Good luck homie and safe travels.
