Life as a travelling ski bum

I want to hit the road jack.
I want a camper and drive to different ski areas every week.
But how do I support myself?
Anyone have any experience with this?
Are online jobs the answer?
Or maybe a mobile taco/coffee camper?
What can I do for a job while travelling 24/7?

Bust ass in the off season to save up money. Be frugal. Dumpster dive your food. Buy gear only if you need it and try to find it used. Having a part time job at a resort can get you a free pass and reciprocals, and it can be your home base to road trip from on days off. If you have any skills that you can freelance, that could work for supplemental income.
If you drink or do any drugs, quit. This will save you a pile of money and maximize your skiing time.

Best advice. Between drinking, chewing tobacco, and weed I was spending almost $350 a month. That money is piling up now, I'm planning a long ass ski road trip for next February with that cash.

I could give all that up but chewing. California and its goddamn tobacco tax is killing my wallet and i need to quit...or move states.

I'm in California, dude, it's bullshit 6.10 for a goddamn can of the welfare bear. I was in NC for a wedding last week and it was 3.05, I already quit but I was tempted.

I've never heard grizzley called welfare bear. That's good. I was just in Montana and cope was 4.30 a can vs the 6.90 I'm paying in Cali.

Learn how to shoot and edit video, reach out to resorts that you want to ski at or local brands that call those resorts home. Theres your free pass and also a fun as fuck job to do while skiing. Grab an Nex-5 or 6 and you have a camera that fits in your snowpants pocket. Produce media and rip, its a good life

I believe so...thought she settled on mobile grilled cheese cart/van...which if done right I think could be a killer. Hit up twitter announcing where you're going to set up, maybe the special for that day? Hit up local artisan bakeries for their breads and so you can rep the local scene.

It's something like 45 a pack for smokes in Aus and I don't know if you can even buy chew.

But yeah, the state to state thing is wild. I remember when a pack of camels cost 350 in NY, and then was at 8-10 bucks within 2 or 3 years. Also chew going from cheap af, to $$$. The south is wild though.

Reducing to one vice deftly saved some money for me. If you have the habit of smoking some Mary Jane, then get some beers and finish the evening with some cigs it adds up.
There are jobs out there where you can work from wherever but your gonna need to be a high qualified person with a degree in something. Think graphics designer or high level hr rep or engineer.

Other option is get a job where you work hard during one portion of the year and take off winter or whatever you want.

Trades are extremely underrated these days in the states. Become a welder, construction person (electrician or fiber optics tech, carpenter), or Heavy equipment operator or CDL truck driver then take winter off.

Or just jump around every season to different ski resorts and work there for a season then bounce during summer. I did that for a while. Still do but now it’s just in fancier places.
