T.L.Palmetto State Armory used to be considered low quality crap. Now it appears they're taking over the world.
Their new Dagger was just released and sold out instantly. It's based on a Gen3 Glock 19 and will accept most if not all aftermarket parts for that gun.
MSRP is $299...

What I'm waiting for is the new PSA5, a affordable MP5 clone. Rumor is it will be well under $1000

SavageBiffIt was basically a response to the other guys long shot post and a story of what my friends and I do for fun.
I was referring to my sniper rifle and shotgun that I keep at a hunting ranch. Some of my friends keep rifles there as well as an assortment of paintball guns etc.
I have a group of ex soldiers etc we host/play airsoft and paintball together there with other local groups and teams. We have a shooting range, driving trails for all sorts of off road vehicles with targets along the way. A few people are allowed there privately for live ammo days.

Very few liberal gun enthusiasts unfortunately.

So I painted it-
Anybody following this pistol brace ATF garbage? Glad they withdrew that letter.
Who knows stuff about AKs? My new gun endeavor is building a Draco . Full SLR furniture preferred. What manufacturer should I be looking at that isn't century arms?
Middle is goals-
DesertStixWell century makes the draco why are you opposed to them? One of my best buds has a century draco and I could chuck that thing off a cliff into a muddy hot spring and it would still fire when I took it out. I also have a handgun imported by century (canik from turkey) and it’s as reliable as any other firearm I’ve ever owned.
galardogodOk boys , I need help, I just purchased a tristar semi automatic 12 gauge and it is my first gun. I believe I assembled it correctly but I am unsure , also do I need to clean/ lubricate it out of the box? Should I bring it to a gun smith before I use it? It said in the box to fire heavy or magnum loads to break it in, is this necessary? I want to be safe and not explode or ruin the gun. I appreciate the help.

JAHpowSo long as you followed the instructions for assembly you should be good to go. Watch a YouTube vid if you're not sure. The ratcheting nut on the end of the magazine tube is only supposed to be tightened down by hand for easy disassembly. Wiping it down out of the box is fine. I use CLP for my gun oil. As for breaking in, if they say to do that then do it. Although, I've never heard of having to break in a shotgun, maybe that's to loosen up the recoil system for lighter loads? I assume this is a 3 1/2 inch gun, which I've never needed, so maybe that's sop for those. I just take mine out and shoot them.
Have fun with your new shotgun!
galardogodIt fired! Well kind of , it fired the first round then jammed , I was able to get the rounds out and continue to use it single shot style and manually eject the cartridge after . I was using 2 3/4 inch #7 bird shot and I don’t think it was heavy enough to cycle. So I am going to spray some CLP on all the moving parts and try some 3inch #3 shot duck loads and see if that works better. I had a big misconception and thought I couldn’t fire steel loads out of the choke my gun came with (modified) so I bought a IC choke but as it would turn out you can fire steel out a modified and slugs for that matter so I think I’ll return my choke .

Twinjibber77That looks sick!
I shot a few Rifle Dynamics AKs recently and they're 100% worth the money. Personally wouldn't spend money on a Draco or stuff from Century *right now*, but if you're set on it then go with the Century. Despite being location dependant, I would creep @rms li$t because I've been seeing some cool AKs pop up on there over the last couple of months, across multiple states.
JAHpowIn what way was it jamming? I can only guess that it was a round issue. If you were shooting low brass #7 then a stiff recoil system probably won't cycle great. Run some high brass 3" stuff through it. You're not going to damage it.
And certainly spray moving parts down, but don't just douse it. Shotguns run pretty dirty in the first place so you don't want heavy oily sludge building up. Just wipe everything down with a thin coat of oil.
DesertStixWhat do you mean by “right now”
BradFiAusNzCoCaI thought I had responded to this previously but I guess not. I have a Tula 1943 Mosin-Nagant 91/30.
I, also, have a post-war Czech made Kar98k. Basically, the Czechs would purposely fuck up parts at the Brno factory (same factory as CZUSA) when under German occupation and building mausers for the German war effort. After the war, they took these parts, scrubbed the symbols (Swastikas, etc.) and retooled them. Some parts were different like the trigger guards are winter trigger guards. These guns were then sold all over. Many were sold to Israel and then bored from an 8mm Mauser to a 7.62. Mine is original 8mm with mirror bore.
Here is a really bad photo. I love it.
I’ve always been more into historical rifles with wood stocks and bolt actions. I want an MAS-36 and a K-31 too.

grantlewis_dntmheyyyy thats up skyline drive in bountiful isn't it?! or am i crazy
danbrownYou are not crazy, you’re 100% correct. That’s the third turnoff, a mile or two above the parking lot. Good eye!
danbrowncan someone recommend a solid basic AR15 cleaning kit and a good tutorial video or instructional writeup? I don't have one and have no clue what I'm doing
BiffbarfHere's a decent start. There's plenty of 'kits' out there but a lot of components are poorly made and you'll only use half of them anyways.
Essentials would be:
patches
composite cleaning rod (steel is probably fine but can scratch up the chamber). I'd choose this over a bore snake because it is less likely to break and get stuck inside the barrel.
Chamber brush (nylon or brass)
Q tips
Rags/paper towels
CLP (clean/lubricate/protect) I use breakfree clp, it's a great lubricant and cuts carbon well during cleaning.
https://www.newschoolers.com/videos/watch/989183/AR-15-CleaningAside from that, you can get obsessive about cleaning and there's tons of tools and bits and oils and greases and whatnots to make life easier, but most aren't neccessary. AR's are easy to clean and as long as you keep some oil on them they won't let you down.
galardogodWhat’s everyone’s opinion of CLP? , I have read a mixed bag.

Twinjibber77I agree with his response above and I just wanted to mention that there's no need to frequently clean an AR. An understanding of proper lubrication and one deep clean per year is the way. I used to clean after every time I went to the range and not only was it a waste, but it probably did more harm than good.
This article has some awesome info: https://www.arbuildjunkie.com/ar-15-lubrication-an-interview-with-cherrybalmz/

DolansLebensraumHe created the ar-15 m16 design but ppl say it was a modification of the french MAS 49 which was a shit rifle to start with.
ar-15s — i would respect stoner if his gun was as reliable and dependable as an ak47 but from everything if read online and seen in videos the ar-15 (even the best ones) are nowhere close in reliability to an ak variant.
i dont get why so many ppl are so in love with the ar-15.
its like having pride in your 1995 range rover.
DolansLebensraumWhat do you mean the atf withdrew the letter about pistol braces? I thought the latest open letter from atf said that you could use a pistol brace however you wanted to as long as it could function reasonably well as an arm brace.
JAHpowApparently you need to inform the 95 countries, including the United States of America, that issue a variant of the AR-15 to their service members that they're using a dogshit gun.
If you could read you'd notice that post was from 6 months ago when a different letter was submitted by the ATF.
JAHpowIf Trump had said what Biden said yesterday, the mainstream news would've spun his words to say that he implied using F-15s and nukes against American citizens. But, of course, there's just zero coverage of what Biden said to begin with.
Fuck this dystopia.
