Replying to February 2020 trip to Breck/Copper

First trip out west from PA. Heading to Denver for a week and a few of us decided we want to ski a few days. Plan to fly in early via southwest to Denver on sunday, ski mon-wed, 2 days at breck, 1 day at copper. Driving back to Denver Thursday for the weekend. Looking for advice on where to stay, things to do, and how to get around in Breck. We will be renting a car to make travel easier since this is the first trip, but how does the shuttle work? Is it worth staying in the "downtown" area by N Park Ave/ S Main St and shuttling to the lifts? Or would it be better to stay close to a gondola/lift and then shuttle to those bar restaurant areas in the evening? All advice and info is much appreciated.
