Thinking of switching cellphone providers

I use Mint Mobile. All online, used my own phone number. Pay as you go in 3, 6, and 12 month segments. Introductory pricing is only 15$ a month for 3gb plus unlimited. I use up my 3gb of high-speed pretty fast but it's unlimited and it doesn't slow down that much after I use it up. I live in the middle of nowhere and I get 4g lte service almost everywhere. Would recommend.

I rock straight talk in the states. Shits a good deal, and keeps getting better. I can't believe people are paying like 80-90 a month for their plans. Contracts are a fucking joke. I had a verizon phone on still the last year or so. There were a few dead zones in the desert where it could just pick up something but not many, and got better with straight talk phone some places.

Unless you're incapable of saving enough to buy a phone or having a CC, I can't see a reason to fuck with contracts and those Verizon stores. I only stop in to visit friends.

Just looked at see that it's now 25gb for 50. Was only 10 last I bought it and a couple years ago it was 5. Fucking killer deal. I've only used 10 a few times so I'll never need more than 25.

Also have lived in mountain towns and driven across the country round trip 4 times in the last 2 years as well as north to south in the east coast and west coast. San Diego to Washington. NH to Florida.

Straight talk is killer. I'm always skeptical because some cheap carriers are only good in cities but straight talk is what's up.

Don't do it. A friend of mine just made that exact switch two weeks ago. I called him and could barely understand what he was saying. He had to repeat himself a lot. He's now going to switch back. Verizon is by far the best for pretty much all of the outdoor places I go. Besides the outrageous price, they are great. At some point the industry will be disrupted but we are not there yet.

Currently out in the boonies. Budget at&t carrier has 4g lte. Verizon has no service. Check a coverage map before you switch.

I had verizon forever Straight talk gets the same service quality. Sometimes either is slightly better but it's all pretty legit these days. I think straight talk uses At&t towers? Idk

Sure if you switch to some BS company that only works in cities like maybe boost or someone. But Verizon rapes people for no reason, and the quality is not better. I was still using my verizon number for a bit but had gotten a straight talk phone. Had both in my pocket. Straight talk did fine all over the US in every direction, long hikes in the middle of nowhere, and mountain towns in general.

If you're getting raped by verizon you're crazy. Some of the monthly unlimited plans people have are fucking heinous.

I'm being cornholed by version right now and until march 2021 for 150ish a month. If I had to do it over I'd have no provider and just use wifi. Hindsight 20/20
