willyg0808my post keeps getting cut....
1.) Vail/pic pass makes skiing less accessible to lower income people & middle income newcomers. A large portion of Ohioans have tried skiing. This is because it is relatively affordable and accessible. I suspect a Mad River day pass + rental will no longer cost
KilaTsunamiAnyone who believes Carinthia is getting downsized is a ding dong.. I'm sure Mt Snow wont let their best hill get watered down...
As for yellow jackets? I think that terrain parks could use more patrol coverage just because every season the jerrys get dumber and dumber. Laying on the landings, standing on the lip... somebody needa teach em etiquette. Lets just hope that they leave all that "No Straightlining" horse shit out west.
Titus69Seeing how park city closed first week of April after an insane snow year I dont expect Vail to keep anywhere open late, even if theres people who wanna ski they already have an epic pass so they dont care. Seems like if they're not gonna profit they wont stay open past a certain date, they have people doing the math for it all.
Titus69They could easily hire someone to just stand at the top of gulch, inferno and nitro reminding all the old people that they're terrain park trails with kids flipping, grinding and crashing, not a fucking groomer run. One old lady once said in line "wow that was a fantastic groomer" after slowly making her way down nitro.
Chubz.I’m more concerned with the tiny resorts in the Midwest...hopefully vail doesn’t increase ticket prices to 100+ dollars for hills with less than 700 ft of vert. Pretty sad to see this giant corporation snag up all these tiny resorts with the “mom & pop” feel to them.
willyg0808Booooo! Boo Vail boo Epic!! As an Ohio native who grew up spending 4+ days a week at Mad River Mountain in Ohio, I have just three comments.

SofaKingSickidk if this is still a thing but did you use a "less than" or "greater than" sign? that at least used to be something that would mess posts up
FogdartI kinda have to disagree. Mad river at its weekend day prices is $49 a ticket and rentals run $32/person. That's when most families would probably go skiing. Their season pass was already $400 for their "mountain" alone. That's a shit fuck ton of money for a 300' vert hill with a questionable 3 month season on 95% man made snow, poorly maintained park, and lift chairs that take 5min up for a 60sec skip downhill. That's a horrible value.
If you wanna expand your pass to include the rest of peak resorts unlimited no blackouts, for a pass it was $420 up through age 29, and then $850 for anyone older. That's not including to any trips you take out west spending additional hundreds or thousands of dollars on day passes.
Consider this while comparing prices now. The epic local pass is $650 and the regular epic pass is $940. I very much dislike vail and all their prices but this seems like a bargain for season pass holders.
Imo the IKON pass is still better, but that's another discussion for another day.
