ON3P Jeffery 108 Binding

I recently purchased a pair of On3p Jeffery 108s with the intent to tour on them. Should I either buy a pair of shifts and pin boots or a pair of frame bindings and alpine boots.

Are you already intending to purchase new boots either way? If so I'd get something with a tech fitting and either go with the Shift, cast, kingpin???, or some other downhill oriented touring binding.

Got shifts on my k108s and real happy with the choice. It’s not a light ski so you can be either of the camp that you can make up for some of that weight touring with a pin binding and boot or just say fuck it, since it’s heavy anyways save the cash and go frame.
Cast would be legit too since a beefy ski deserves a beefy binding like a metal pivot.

Had frame bindings for a whole season and switched to Shifts this past season (50+ touring days each year). The shifts both tour better and ski better than a frame binding. Especially with Jeffreys as the extra length of the frame binding will dampen the flex of the ski. Spend the money, you will not be disappointed. Just make sure you do some research and get a boot thats compatible with the binding (MNC) and will be stiff enough to ski well. Both Solomon and Lange make good freeride touring boots that ski nice

Would the Full Tilt Ascendant work as a freeride pin boot that still works as an all-mountain boot?

Cast all day, then you got a burly ass setup to shred everything on. Not sure why you would buy a frame binding anymore now that the alternatives have gotten so much better.

Despite only using mine a handful of times and having no issues, there is a lot out there about pre releasing on shifts. Just make sure to do your research on that beforehand. With that said if you don’t mind the extra weight cast looks pretty sweet
