Pick one ski for the rest of your life

Hypothetical: If you could only ride one ski for the rest of your life, what would you choose and why? Say they were always in perfect condition and you didnt have to worry about durability, but you cant ever ride any other brand/model/width/length etc.

ngl it would probably be the 182 Revision talisman. They skied real nice for me, took them through pretty much everything the east has to offer. to bad bill wanrooy sucks fat cock

I may sound cliche saying this but Wets

I miss the pair I use to own. They were the only park skis I’ve ever had that lasted more than one season. I live on the east coast so typical concerns such as width or stability really wouldn’t be an issue if it was the ski I had to ride forever. The flex is also really fun and unique. They’re like toys. Truly a ski that lives up to its hype.

I would buy another pair in a heartbeat. The only reason I haven’t bought a pair for this season is because I enjoy trying out other skis and brands.

Vishnu Wets if I could ride park forever the way I do now because those things are fun beyond words can describe.

But the ability to ride park forever is not realistic, so probably the Vishnu Wides (even tho I’ve never ridden them) just so I could ride park as long as I want, because they’re very similar to the way Wets ride from what I’ve heard. Then when I’m 60 and can barely hit jumps and slide rails anymore I can take them to all mountain and get my skiing fun that way.

Kartel 98's, great handling, ride well on any snow condition, all around good ski. I grew up on actual straight sticks so the wide skis feel like snowboards on each foot.

Kartel 96 in a 186 or 191, if its forever like hes saying the kartel is a great park ski for now, and it shreds the shit out of trees and moguls which i love, they are still stable at speed and even though im usually at Louise or sunshine im almost never there for over 10cm of fresh so its not a huge concern of taking a 108 instead.

K2 marksmen. Super fun in every condition. They are a little weird in the park, but I got used to them and they didn't make me any worse.

I have to preface this with the fact that I'm old and not a park skier.

I think I'd go with something ~100mm waist and some minor dad ski characteristics. I'd like to ski for a long time.

Maybe the Black Crows Daemon or Atris? Both versatile and not punishing.

This is actually a really tough question.

If I gave up touring: Rossi Black Ops 118 - surprisingly versatile for how giant it is and makes soft snow more fun than almost anything else I've been on.

If I was also touring: new Line SFB or Sick Day 104 - both incredibly fun skis for their weight. Would just have to decide if I want max playfulness or a bit more stability in a more directional package.

HG Transfer. Competed big mountain comps on them but mostly lapped the park. 2 seasons 1 edge crack. If anyone around the summit county area sees some transfers with tall-t/treefort decals hmu. They were stolen from slopesoakers this year

Amplid rockwells, got them this season and fell in love with them, turn on a dime, poppy and easy to butter and work really well in literally all conditions!

Probably something like the 4FRNT Devastators or the Kartel 108s (now the Jefferys I believe). Something that can hold court in a bit of deep snow but also something that rips in hardpack/cruddy busting. This would be for right now, as a 23 year old, but Id probably venture out to something a bit more mellow and directional like a dad ski as I get older.

Monday: Airbag training
Tuesday: Rail garden learning all 16
Wed: hitting 80ft jumps 20 times doing all axis dubs and triples
Thursday: everything on Weds except doing it unnatural
Friday: Pipe runs in case that one kid on the pipe team gets hurt and my mom drives me all the way to utah to compete in WC
Sat/Sunday: Rest and tramp training. I also spend 6 hrs following people that look like they ski and unfollow them after they follow back

Magnus, not too soft and not to stiff, and are a great park ski. So I can ride park like now and then when I can't do shit anymore I can just mount them a little farther back and take them all mountain and fw natural jumps n shit

Haven't really ridden a ton of skis, but right now, probably the Black Ops 118. Solid ski in just about any conditions, despite the size and weight.

I have a pair of JJ Zero’s with kingers mounted at -1.5cm. Fun as shit, and even skied park for a week on them. Totally regret it cause of edge cracks, but with ~70 days of touring on them and like 45 in resort, they are a great ski for doing tricks on booters.

My answer has got to be my 2016 BDogs. Basically a narrower JJ with fat ass edges, and I think of myself as a decent enough skier to handle them at high speeds. Super fun in all conditions, and after 3 years, they somehow lack any edge cracks. Durable. As. Fuck.

If I had to choose one ski, I’d hang up the park skiing and go for the Line Sakana. The sick performance of the pescado with a better width for touring and all day corduroy turns with plenty of send.

4FRNT VCT- Probably because Im going to ski them the rest of my life. They are traditional camber, about 104 underfoot and solid as shit. You can lap park with them, float pow and rip groomers like race skis.
