vbiletskymy leg hurts so much when its elevated. I started crying after my mom moved it.
vbiletskyI'm taking my meds and icing my knee but it still hurts please help me lmao
Tnski
nelesonTry and keep it atleast at the same level as ur body because the swelling will start lessening faster so it won't be so painful soon, but the day after surgery is worst youll still feel the pain even with the meds

OregonDeadYes that’s normal but it will be way worse if you don’t elevate. It will always hurt more when someone else moves it.
Say no to that stuff but it’s ok to ask your doctor about medical Cannabis in Canada. Even Christian pediatricians can prescribe marijuana when it’s appropriate.
Hang in there it will get better.
vbiletskymy parents wont do that because i already have a prescription for opioids and my parents wont do medical prescription for cannabis.
the leg is currently elevated

oldmanskiWhat did you have done to your knee?
MinggMake sure the joint is supported from the mid thigh through the calf. If you have it straight without support there, gravity can be enough force to cause pain. Also if it is bent at too much of an angle you could be stretching the tendons/ligaments/muscles too much causing more pain. Getting a pillow right behind your knee or a pillow behind your knee and under your heels could work to get a gentle bend that is supported.
If you were given TEDS, wear them to prevent excessive swelling in your legs and feet. Reduced swelling = less internal pressure = less pain. This is not an immediate solution but will help over time.
vbiletskyI have had a pillow under my knee for the majority of the time. I started straightening it and its not as painful as it was yesterday.
I have one on and I''m taking anti-inflammatorys. I have a cold machine on it as well.

Profahoben_212I've heard good things about cbd but I haven't used it. Other than that RICE is about all you can do to keep it in bearable limits
DeebieSkeebiesFresh outta foot surgery myself last week (first ever surgery ever too wew) myself, still taking pain meds and antibiotics as well as vitamin supplements to keep the body a bit regulated too. Elevate, keep mentally occupied with something, only move if you need to use the bathroom of course, and its not a bad idea to substitue your opiod pain meds with ibuprofen. Still take the heavy duty ones when you need them for sleep but ive been taking ibuprofen in a cycle with my anti biotics and only use my oxys w/ melatonin gummies + weed for sleep.
patagonialukeI used CBD a lot this season to deal with a consistently tweaked knee. I wouldn't say it's revolutionary, but it definitely helped with the pain. The CBD tinctures and creams worked well enough that I stopped using ibuprofen this season. For reference, I used about 15-30 mg each time, but it might be worth trying more post-surgery. And then follow all the other advice here re: RICE.
