Replying to When did you realize you were all grown up

Today I was all uniformed up in my hardhat, my high vis shirt and work pants with work boots. My job was to push low voltage cables underground through conduit to end up inside of an office building. There were people walking around me as I was working. Some skateboarders skated past me looking at me as if they were seeing aliens for the first time.

However, when I looked back at them I saw some of me in them. I used to be those kids, I used to skate to get everywhere around town, and I used to look at adults working like “wtf is going on here”. I’m only 19 mind you, so I’m not old at all yet here I am looking at myself like “damn I’m all grown up” gone are the summer days when I can just play games, eat chips, and go skate.

Nowadays I have bills to pay and all that. I did do the ski bum thing last year and it didn’t workout for me to well. Unfortunately not all of us have parents who were loaded so my only option is to build my enterprise from scratch. This year I still plan on skiing but I know it wont be as much as last season where I got a total of 88 days in.

EDIT: At what point in your life did you realize “damn I’m getting old”
