What are some solid racks that won’t break the bank? Don’t want to unknowingly buy a peice of shit that won’t work well or have some kind of mishap. It will be going on a Subaru Outback, if that helps. Thx.

Do you have factory or other crossbars?

I'm pretty sure someone here works(ed) at rack and road and has a wealth of knowledge related to transported items on the outside of vehicles.

Yes I have the factory crossbars that you can either set parallel with the length of the vehicle or set perpendicular with the length of the vehicle.

I have a set of Thule ski/snowboard racks that I ran on the wifes car for a season a few years back that you can have. They were on a 2013 Honda CRV which I think has the same crossbar as the Subaru. I wont ever use them again and they need to go to a good home. You just have to pay the ride from Portland Oregon to wherever you want them. PM me if you are interested.

Got my thule rack on craigslist for 30 bucks including locks and keys one summer. They're really simple, no need to buy new.
