TRVP_ANGELAlmost all airlines do checked baggage where Ski bag + Boot bag are considered 1 baggage and you only pay the fee of one. Do that. I'm tired of people bringing their boots onto the plane as carry-on for no reason.

nuno81291Don’t listen to this guy. If you are flying toward skiing absolutely bring them in the cabin with you, your skis may not make it but you’ll have the most important part of your rig. No problem checking them on the return trip (if you aren’t immediately skiing) had multiple airlines misplace luggage.
nuno81291If that works for you that’s cool, we have fixed dates we go so I can book out pretty far in advance and a round trip is about that much other than ski check fee on Lufthansa (always fly into Germany to the in-laws place). My question is did you get your boots in time for skiing and if not what did you do? I couldn’t ski a stock boot for the life of me and I doubt they would cover a pair of boots if they think the misplaced ones are enroute. Always nervous of this scenario and jam some other essentials in my boot bag carry on

Paul.just wear your boots on the plane
TRVP_ANGELAverage time it takes to get it delivered to you is about 1-2 days. It happened to me twice, once there and another time but after i got back.
TRVP_ANGELNah listen, this has happened to me and i put the customer service and social media on blast. Guess who flew free for his next ski trip.
MinggI tried to quote both of you but it didn't work. Anyway, check a boot bag and ski bag, but use the boot bag as a suitcase and still carry your boots on the plane. Maximum luggage checked and also safe boots. It's a win win. Thanks for listening to my ideas.
