Also I feel like the late 90s-mid 2ks was a killer time growing up as far as those games. Shit was a fad that came and went. Occasional games these days but not many and generally low quality from the ones farther back.

Tony Hawk probably had the best soundtrack. Wave race was cool as fuck and weird. Such a random choice for a game. Skate had the best physics/controls and forever killer playback ability.

I had a PS2 growing up; we had our share of action sport games.
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 was the original game for me. too many quality hours spent on that game and its videos.
SSX Tricky was an amazingly fun game
Aggressive inline was a game changer to the genre.
Downhill domination was a fun variant

Dave mirra pro bmx was such a great game, and rip the the man himself.

When I got a ps2 it was bundled with atv off road fury 2, and man that was a fun ass game. Bomb soundtrack too.

I remember going on the computer and writing down Tony Hawk Proskater 2 cheat codes on a piece of paper so I could get hella big air. My character was always on some anti-gravity shit. Those were the real days where the only worries were if I could land a 3600 with a method grab.

I think i gave my friend $2 in quarters to print me out the cheats to the first or second. And def had sheets of paper i hand copied from other peoples. Those were the days.

I can still probably put in the weapons cheats for gta 3 and vice city by memory.

Skate is super fun but I've played the hell out of that game. Even then, I can still hop on and keep myself entertained, but I'm currently into steep.

I just wish there were some things different about steep, like more realistic rail physics for example - currently any sort of swaps look ridiculous, your skier will literally pop 4 ft in the air, bring his knees in, and rotate 180 degrees. Also, the speed in that game is just insane, it only takes a few seconds for your skier to hit like 80mph, making big mountain not as realistic either.

Also it would be fire if there was some sort of snow physics where random avalanches happened. But idk if that processing power is available

I fucking love skater XL, best skate game ever, you got so much control and so much community content.

Idk if the same game but whatever mx vs atv I played was pretty killer. Loved doing trips and cork 10s on a dirt bike

Rrrrrricky winterborn. Diiion Blaster. I really like the one trail where there was a rail between the 2 spots at the finish line you could boardslide.

360 540 900 TENNNNN EIGHTYY!!!!!! I prolly took a few years of the life if my joysticks on that. Also cousin had his 64 in college and his friends would try and beat my high scores from christmas on there.

The panda was chill. Also had the gold and ice man you had to race. Fuck man. Brings me back. Not a great game maybe in retrospect but pretty solid for the time. I miss the late 90s early 2k wave of action sports games. What a friggin time to be alive

Tony hawk by default cuz I played it ALL THE TIME. Cool boarders was rad. I had a demo of it and it was fucking cool (yeah kids they had demo games lol). Also, Jet Moto is the bomb. Ride jetski type vehicles over all sorts of terrain with bomb ass soundtracks

No Aggressive inline for PS2? My favorite game since Tony Hawk 1 and 2. They nailed the misty, Lincoln loop, and corks. Some the bad programming made the game better...glitches you give you awesome air.
