860media*. But, I feel like its way more acceptable to ski without poles now than it was a few years ago...
TheOtherJakeCHonestly I don't even notice if someone is using poles or not anymore it's so common
Knewnewsno poles is so fucking dumb with any kind of flat/speed issues.
its just another i actually should snowboard ski trend.
LukeTheWaffleIn the park ive used both and find no poles better. Poles to the ribs suck, and can hurt wrists, while no poles let's you grab easier, anywhere outside of the park I will use poles
TheOtherJakeCThis except I also think poles help my balance on rails and awkward features so it's always hard to decide

finderuhh get in shape/learn to skate and it's not that big of a deal. I almost always ski with poles bc I like them for balance but imo learning rail tricks with no poles will make you better at them/improve balance. I also think there's something to be said for increased risk of injury when using poles. A kid died at USASA nationals a few years ago because he landed sideways and took a pole grip right to the side of the head. It's not like dudes are traversing gnarly shit out of bounds with no poles, and if they are, then I would only then agree with your point, but at the end of the day, you get to ski however the fuck you want.

Grindy_McSliderI think using shortish poles is a good middle ground.
GnarcoholicDaamn no way? You know any links or vids of this happening?
