Options in the alps

Im planning a trip to the alps for the end of next march. Ive never been, so just wanted to hear about the places youve been at, suggestions etc.

Obv emphasis on all mtn, but having a nice park is definitely a big plus. I’m also going to be with a big group, so we’re looking for a place where accommodations wouldnt be too hard to find. Whats THE place to go?

St Anton, Austria is just sick all round with a good park, amazing back country and big ski area plus best apres in Europe imo OR go Val Thorens, France - if you get the 3 valleys pass for it the area is huge (Val Thorens, Meribel and Courchevel), will give you access to several decent parks as well. Plus Val Thorens is the highest resort in Europe I am pretty sure so is super snow sure and re. accom, it has lots of self-catered accom right on the slopes.

If you’re going to Europe to ski park then there’s no point in going. Skiing in the Alps is an experience that you cannot find anywhere else and skiing park there is stupid. Ski the big lines and open fields they have to offer.

That's a stupid comment.

The park scene in Europe is massive, arguably bigger than North America, especially in summer.

And yes, whilst we do have big mountain terrain that's difficult to find in North America, to say skiing park there is pointless, is a stupid opinion.

100% agree this dudes obvs never had the enjoyment of a morning spent in the pow fields and an afternoon in the park.

Respectfully, you’re wrong about that because I spent 10 years of my life in Switzerland. Forgive my comment, I did not mean to come across as saying, “skiing park is pointless,” but rather that the main focus should be the natural terrain that is offered.

I don’t disagree, I just think it’s more about personal preference. I grew up skiing the 4 vallees in Switzerland every winter until I was 11. Moved to the east coast where I now ski a tiny hill and got into park. Went back to Switzerland last winter and still skied mainly park so I think it’s more personal preference than anything even though I do love to mob a good alpine trail
