Anyone going skiing out west after this storm? Just saw the weather Channel and about died inside.
Also another note, Colorado people, any general idea how long you expect the snowpack to last up high? Doing some hikes in late June and wondering what to expect. There was very minimal last year but the snowfall was so much less also last year
Snow just melted from my yard. I planted flowers and seeded my lawn. The I woke up to 5” yesterday morning. No thanks right now. I’d like it to be 65 and sunny again.
On the positive, maybe Utah won’t burn this summer.
Skied snowbird yesterday and the first few runs kicked ass but having one lift on a Saturday morning was fucked, awesome cream cheese a bit lower, but up high looked almost blower. I just want sun in salt lake, if it dumps 12"+ in the mountains I'm also hyped regardless the time of year.
My friends have been touring up Alta the last few days and everyday looks so insanely good up high, not blower but looks like creamy cream. Now we got rain before hot sun so time for corn season, for the second time this season.
Snowbird hit 707" YTD, Pretty insane. '07 was like the last time they got that much and they're planning on keeping things open just on the weekends well into june or as long as itll last and be skiable, and probably some 4th of July action. Ready for some heat and corn though. It skied really well today though.

Damn, I mean makes sense with the rain and warmth, if anything was good recently it was only creamy. Maybe we just need more sun for the corn to harvest. Had a blast skiing off Peruvian today, not terrible lines and even some of the off piste skiing was fun as fuck and not to bad on the legs.

last week when I was there it was as well. Even at like 10 am. Didnt reallize the snow was looking good through main chute till i was working my way toward the high sholder. That snow prolly would have been good. At least better.
Unfortunately non of my friends that live/had lived there were around or free. Prolly were some good areas I just dont know the mountain well.

I mean I still heard from people skinning alta it was amazing, however my friends did go early and during the storm when it was freshest, but did say they avoided face shots so they could see, skied awesome conditions at snowbird Sunday, not pow but the groomers and off piste were still fun.

I took the chute above the shoulder because it looked good, but I was wrong. I’m also pretty unfamiliar with Alta, so it’s whatever.
