I hate people like this. Yea, skiing is wayy better in the west, but the small mountain communities in the northeast aren't always so awful
We are all doing the sport that we love, and some of us have reasons to stay in the east, theres more to life than skiing.
Again, if we want to ski, let us ski, dont hate just cuz we ski in a worse place than you.
This is a great thread. People can't be passionate about a sport if they live somewhere that's not the best for it? Tell that to NBA fans in India...
Maybe coming East would help your spoiled ass. I went out to Tahoe this winter (first time west of Missouri in my life), and skied conditions that were 10x better than anything I skied at my home hill. These locals out there were complaining every lift ride about how trash the conditions were... Unreal. Learn to ski on the Ice Coast and you'll enjoy any conditions ever!
i came out the tomb like jesus motherfucker, just to say, stay out west PUSSY boi. east coast skiiing is hyphy. we stay having fun out here, we take what we get and make the best of it. you whine and stay home, while we stay smoking GAS, skiing fast, and eating ass. BEAST COAST FOREVER! (mic drop)

I just got back from my first trip to the Colorado and TBH I was shocked about how average/mediocre the general skill level was around me. I ski at Cannon and Loon and I often have racers and really good park kids bombing past me doing the sickest shit and I was expecting colorado riders to be on a whole nother level. The terrain and snow was obviously 10/10 and shit on the East Coast, but I was VERY underwhelmed with the skill level of the riders out there.

No hate on the east coast resorts, but if i worked at one rather than a resort in the rockies i would feel like i was missing out on life. If i grew up/lived near a good ec resort i might stay rather than flock to colorado, but when it comes to mountains im like a coal burning slut with a huge vagina

I'd bet there are kids from Connecticut who are better skiers than you. And theres also this thing called traveling, where i can get on a fucking plane and be there in 3 hours. I was just in summit and we got like 8 inches, flew home and we got 5. So yah that extra 3 inches is DOPE

There are alot of colorado natives who dominate but i get your point. Colorado is such a libertarian utopia compared to the east coast that natives are more complacent and would rather smoke a bowl and cruise the trees than get super competitive about an east coast terrain park because the east coast hill sucks and the terrain park is more fun than the rest of the shitty terrain. This is why colorado natives arent as hungry. Wallisch and brogan and martini and nick geopper all grew up with shitty hills where the terrain park was the most fun thing. I admit i do have a massive hard on for colorado but people there are so based, friendly, and stoked on life that its hard to not fall in love. I hope all the transplants arent ruining it tho.

Chill.. it’s better than nothing to do every now and again and east coast skiers can just fuck around and be the best on the mountain and still be able to shred out west.
The East Coast is literally the birthplace of freestyle skiing. Waterville Valley in New Hampshire is the birthplace, first place to host a freestyle comp, Vail and Sun Valley followed soon after in the 70's.

Killington was sking powder through the 20th. You have no idea what you are talking about. Clearly an uneducated fool because New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine have some of the best skiing in the US.
Whenever the east coast starts claiming a monopoly on rainy/icy conditions, I want to remind them that Washington state and the other low elevation PNW resorts would like to have a word with them. I think it's funny when west coasters comment on east coast resorts. I doubt many west coast skiers have ever skied or even traveled east of the Mississippi.

I live in the east , I have a great time skiing here , love going west , I have a great time skiing there , hate when ppl bash the east
Honestly though, if I lived west , I doubt I’d travel east (United States) to ski , I know what we got and i love it , it’s what I grew up on and I’m better here than there I’d say but... prob wouldn’t travel east , would you realistically?
You're right. If I lived out west then I probably wouldn't come east to ski. I just think that their perception of the east can be a bit off sometimes.
I enjoy skiing on the whiteboard ass, ice that is the east coast. Gives you some balls, nothing harder than ice thats more slippery than a goddamn rail
Honestly this thread is a damn shame. It’s not about where you’re from. Skiing is about skiing and getting that feeling however you can. Some of us started lives here and can’t just up and leave. Yes, west coast conditions are better and the mountains are bigger. No one in the east disagrees. We even treat the west like holy land. But the east does have great skiing, to say otherwise is straight ignorance. So, trashing our home and what we ride just to get a reaction? Low budget. Sad you feel the need to try and divide us.

I'm from CT, it surprises most people when they ask where I grew up skiing.
The East Coast has cheaper skiing price wise.
I dunno, after skiing both east and west Canada, I can safely say the West has way better quality skiing and much more terrain to do it on. Dont have to take a lift after doing 4 turns. The lines last much longer and way more challenging. People are quite friendlier for chairlift conversations. Seasons last much longer too.
The East has its upsides too; Most parks out East are amazing and super fun to ride. People are more humble in the East and the riders tend to be all locals. Most hills have outstanding grooming and well thought out designs. I hate funnel hill, where all runs funnel to a single lift.
