ForcilloGet the ski stuff out of there, if you want to get those types of commerical jobs then make a spec with that footy and send it out to specific companies you want to work with. There was some repetition with the guy running in the gym that I didn't dig too much, made me feel like you were stretching your projects to fill time over the edit. I didn't get the impression from the shot selection that you light all of what you shoot, so even if that's true, shots that jive more with a modern commercial look (highkey, sleek, sharp) will take you up a few notches imo. As a commerical reel it's not bad at all, I just think you can do a better job faking that you've been doing this for 5-10 years. Keep it up, you could make a business out of that pretty soon.
Thank you this is exactly what I needed!
Obviously I want to show what is as close to my best work as possible, and so maybe thats why it feels like Im trying to stretch my projects out? I find it hard to decide the order and grouping of shots, but am currently happy with it.
Nearly all of whats in there had no lighting other than natural/house lights - I don't want that impression but I don't have a kit and these projects never have the budget to rent anything.
Do you have any commercial based showreels you've seen that I can work towards? They're harder to find than a normal DP reel
