SofaKingSickstill better than the G suit
lauraobermeyerI think it's sick. It's weird. He's supporting a brand that emphasizes the artist and that's cool.
pinkcamo1000It's a brand that has done nothing for skiing and probably won't do anything in the future, tbh this just seems like a designer street wear brand leeching off of our community.
lauraobermeyerSo? How are they leeching off our community? Because they’re supporting a skier a lot of people like?
How is it different from someone rocking rebok or thrasher on hill? They’re stoked on a brand, they’re gonna wear it, even when it’s a streetwear brand that has little to no involvement with our sport. Hot take, but let people wear what they like and want- it’s got no effect on you.
Skiierdude420That jacket costs $333 and the pants $267 he's fitted af
pinkcamo1000I never said he couldn't wear it, I just think if you're going to drop 600 on a ski suit it's better to support a company that might give something back to the community
-DanTwo things- owner of that brand is a skier and he gave Magnus the kit.
pinkcamo1000That's totally cool, I'm not being critical of Magnus and for the record I would wear pretty much anything if it was given to me for free.
I'm just saying that as a consumer, there's no way I'm going to support this brand just because they gave Magnus a ski suit. It's cool that their owner is a skier, but unless they start putting out their own content or funding cool events like rail jams or TAFT I'm not going to view them as a rider-owned brand. If I'm going to spend hundreds of dollars on a ski suit, I'm either going to buy something from a big brand that will for sure be good quality or something from a smaller brand that's deeply invested in the newschool skiing community. If you ask me, KidSuper is neither of those things. Do they even have an NS account?
But most importantly, I think this ski suit just looks terrible. I don't think being able to design something that will look cool on the streets of NYC translates well to ski wear. In the city, everybody is viewing you from close up and the background is always some shade of brown/grey, so cool little details really pop out at you. On a ski hill you're always viewed from a distance up against a white background, which is why most ski wear is pretty simple and minimalist.
