Ski boot crack, how long left until I need a new pair?

The red mark is where its cracked (just the top shell where they overlap, bottom one is fine). For one boot the crack is pretty wide and the other not so much. They feel fine skiing them in terms of park skiing but off piste i can feel them crunch forward every once in a while.

If they are within the warranty period (2 years from date of purchase) and you are the original owner, that type of crack should be covered by warranty. Definitely work taking to a Salomon retailer to check.

If not, your boot-fitter will need to drill a hole at the end of the crack in order for it to stop spreading. With any luck, it won't keep going. If it does keep going, then you will for sure need to replace the boots before you end up getting hurt.

Unfortunately it might have been already more than 2 years and the retailer is now closed for the summer season. Should i give corporate a call?

Yes contact them, worst case, they are going say we cant help you. Never hurts to try.

Probably can’t hurt to attempt to drill a hole yourself to prevent spreading if you’re planning on riding any more this season

did this on my langes and it seemed to stop the crack from spreading further in. mine wasnt too large though, maybe an 1/8 of an inch in when I drilled a hole.

This is why you want to speak with a Salomon retailer or someone at Salomon's customer service before you drill the boot.
