Hey NS,

How do I fix my misty fives? on tramp I am trying to learn them and I do the progression but when I try to put it to my feet, I end up setting it back and doing an unnat flat. Any pointers?

The way I’ve always thought of doing a misty 5 is: Left 90. Lincoln loop. Left 90.
When I do that the 90s and Lincoln become one fluid rotation. Maybe think of it that way when you set? Also recommended thinking of putting your right shoulder down towards your left knee when you set. Idk hope that helps

I big problem I used to have on all jump tricks was setting the trick too early with the upper body. On the lip of the jump my shoulders would be closer to 180 while my skis were still straight, causing me to over-rotate by about 90° for each trick. I did this because I was always nervous. Anyways, this relates to mistys because when I first learned them I had them dialed on the tramp but everytime I did it on skis I would set the trick too early and I ended up just learning misty 7's first cause I would over-rotate.

How do you go to flat? Flat is thrown back and a misty is thrown forward. Also try doing the front flip to 90 to the full 180 progression. It helps. Imagine you’re doing a poppy front flip on to a rail and it will put the feeling of flipping while spinning into your muscles.

Idk man flat is kinda thrown.. sideways? I can totally see how a Misty attempt could become a flat

Yeah I was throwing them flat because of the way I started my arm but I tried a frontflip 1 and kinda worked it to be more tucked in and I think it looks decent

I really want to learn them on an airbag. do you think a steep take off for an airbag jump would be harder to learn on than a flat jump
