Pivot 14 heel pulled out of Deathwish today UPDATE #2

Bad mount? Forward pressure dialed too far? All 4 screws holding the heel piece pulled out.

Looks like you have a couple core shots. If untreated, some skis can absorb water, causing the core to rot. is there glue residue on the screws? Most shops use wood glue to prevent the skis from absorbing water.

Did it come out on a bad fall or just kinda fall out? Ripping out of a moment ski makes me think either an unsealed core shot or the screws weren’t sealed with glue...not much you can do besides remount, I have heard of Evo warrantying rip outs if you can put the blame on them...granted I don’t even know where you got them

just needs some further examination, probably not forward pressure.

as mentioned check the condition of the screws and base. one pair of old fks i took off had rusty screws. how are the holes? shine a flashlight in there and see how dat core is

UPDATE:

So the jacked up ski is going back to Moment for them to look at and possibly warranty. The shop told me best case scenario they replace the single ski.

I'm wondering how weird this will be because I've skied probably 60 days on these and beat the crap out of them. I just wonder if the non-replaced ski has softened up at all (does that happen). For sure Ive done a lot of edge work on them. Wondering if the two skis (one new one old) will have a noticeable difference in the way they feel.

I highly doubt they replace a single ski. I would say they’d send you a new pair.

So the shop sent the ski back to Moment, and Moment accepted the warranty and is sending a new pair of skis. I gotta say, I was a die-hard Moment guy before, now I'm a customer for life. Super glad to see a grassroots US ski company step up and stand behind their product.

Also, Evo is gonna mount the new skis free of charge. Huge props to them too.
