Replying to Does Big Sky just throw stuff away?
Sorry, this might be lengthy... So I left my bag at the park and they closed lifts early due to lightning (understandably) so they said ski patrol would pick up bags and bring them to lost and found that night. I waited until almost 7 pm and they never brought anything. The next day I went back and they still never brought anything (they said "go check with ski patrol, they're our best division." So I did that and the patrollers in the hut did not seem to want to help us at all. They basically said they don't bother with the park and to check with the park crew, but they weren't able to give us anywhere to go to contact the park crew. So I rented a pair of skis for one run (actually the rental dude was a G and let me use some Jerry skis for free) and went to go check the whole park and never found my bag. I submitted a lost and found request for every item in that bag (including my wallet, goggles, and glasses which added up to over $600) and still haven't heard back from them.
I recently heard a story about someone who got caught using someone else's pass and Big Sky took his skis hostage and threatened to throw them away and call the sheriff if the guy didn't buy 2 day passes for about $300. He paid the price and they still threw his skis away. Idk how much truth there is in that story, but I wouldn't put it past them. Do you think they did find my bag and just threw it away? What should I do? Or if any of you MT homies might've picked it up, please dm me, no questions asked. I honestly just need my glasses and drivers license back :(
