theabortionatorNah it's like $375 USD and it's not instant. Still waiting. Also had to drop 5 hundo on a bullshit TB check. I' pretty much all in. Flights booked and everything. If I don't get the visa I'll be a sad boy.

oldmanskiThere are a few different Visa’s........ there is the basic holiday/vacation visa they is good for a few months that yes, you can apply on line pay a small fee and attach it to your passport.
There is a work Visa for if you want to go over and stay and work for a year. I think you need to have an employer on board to assist with this process. (As I remember speaking with some of the locals when I was there last).
Then there is the resident Visa which requires a lot of extra information, time and money. I do know with the later of the 2 Visas it is back ground checks and the whole process does take much longer than the standard holiday Visa.

I already have the correct visa in progress started applying for it over a month ago. It's all in the works. I'm not just deciding now that Hey, maybe I'll go to Aus.
I have a job lined up, I have my accommodation locked down, plane ticket purchased. All my documents and then some extra sent over.

Yeah they aren't cheap for any other visas other than the visiting one.... It's either skilled worker or 3-5m in the bank for citizenship

theabortionatorVisa came through! Stoked to not have to stress that shit anymore. With flights, visa fee, bullshit health exam, housing deposit, etc I was already in like $2100 bucks into the trip that would have really hurt in addition to getting stuck in the states.
