Offseason DIN Setting

Hopefully this isnt a repeat post but it's there anything that says you should check your DIN down while you and your skis await next season? I've done it thinking it would help the spring but don't really know if it helps.

I do it (just like I unscrew my snowboard bindings during summer). It doesn't hurt.
Just don't forget you did it next time you click in your skis!

Had an fks binding that I left at 12 for years, then one day when I went to turn it down so a friend could use it the spring just snapped, totally ruined the heelpeace. Definitely a good idea to turn them down in the Summer

chuck a sticky note or some tape on them to remind you. nothing worse than showing up first day and walking out of your skis

12 years is too old. This is why shops won't touch stuff that's off the indemnification list.

It cannot hurt in any way. Metal springs have memory, and taking that preload off in the summer will help to keep din as close to factory accurate as possible.

It's not necessary in modern bindings. In theory it reduces the tension stored in the springs, added to by putting the heel pieces up for fks/pivots & markers, and leaving salomons/atomics down, but the actual amount it reduces the tension is negligible to the binding life.
As such, mainly to stop people messing with their bindings if they don't know what they're doing, binding manufacturers don't recommend it.
TLDR: wont hurt to do it as long as you know how to adjust them safely, but wont greatly improve binding life.
