take it with a grain of salt, most contests don't foster or blossom creativity, namely big air contests. big air contests are contests of consitency, not of creativity, they don't hinder anything though, they do what they are designed to do, and that is to show who is the best competitor. x-games/us open aren't contests of creativity. if anything hate on the format, and maybe well will see more contests like orage masters which is the dopest major contest to date that i know of.





ninthward is making some skis and maybe fucking some shit up on the side, and i love it.

yea i agree with that. but my whole point is just that one everyone does the exact same trick its just lame. like yeh its a dope trick but seein everyone do the exact same trick it just gets boring.

I disagree, maybe the major comps kill creativity but the lower ones are still sick. I go to them and just throw down not aiming to win but just to throw down and have fun and show all the pretty girls my skills.

Being out there skiing every day, good or bad, just playing around with friends, with no contests or filming- that is the real spirit of skiing for me. that is why i started skiing, and if i lose those moments that is what will make me stop skiing.

comps like super park and like orage masters is kinda about progression

yeah smaller contests and some like masters and such are sweet. big air contests aren't creativity based contests really, who ever is the most technical and consistent wins

comps all around generally are seriously biased. Orage masters is where its at.
From what i have seen in person, nothing over a 720 is stylish.
I would rather see a slow spin with a real solid grab, because it is so much harder to hold grabs and steeze them rather than just spinning and touching your skis.
