To Western New York Newschoolers:
Next week Saturday my brother and I are going to be at Holimont ski area hiking up and building features. Probably a jump or two and a couple homemade rails. They got a TON of snow (4-5 feet) and if they aren’t using it I’m gonna. If anyone sees this nearby and wants to join us, feel free. It might rain but we’ll be there anyways.

I contacted some friends and looks like we will have a couple jumps and about 4 homemade rails (2 straight, transfer, cannon) It should be a good time!

Honestly I’ve done this for many years and I haven’t run into any problems with employees. In fact last year was the only year there was staff at the place while we were there and they came up to watch.

Theres still lots of snow if you're trying to get out again. I've gotten 6 days at holiday since they've closed down. I was skiing moonshadow yesterday and its basically still top to bottom with all the rollers they built it was super flowy

Is it worth going to HV solo? My boyfriend won't go with me.

Is there still snow? My sister works at EBC and she was down there yesterday and said it looked good but she doesn't know what she's talking about. Just don't want to drive 45 mins just to get yelled at or kicked out or something. Also very out of shape after being isolated in my bedroom for 2 weeks but I'm cleared as of yesterday so I also need to get the fuck out of here.

I’m walking up Holimont rn. Couple runs you can go top to bottom. Nobody here and I’ve been out a couple times when there was and they didn’t even look at me twice

I ended up hiking at HV. The snow was questionable and I forgot my boots after hiking most of the way up Edelweiss so I had to start over lol but overall good time. Glad I got some last turns in for the season.

Haha bummer. Glad you got out. I definitely ran short on snow a few times during my few runs today haha

There was actually a lot but it was patchy. It's obviously not maintained so it just does what it wants. Lots of snow still though, just not the most ski-friendly snow haha. It looked like sunrise area still had good coverage. And yodeler looked great, actually probably the best bet but there were people at the base area but I didn't want to make any kind of human contact lol.

I should have looked when I was there but I wonder if the gates to spruce are open or will be opened this spring?
