How hard is it really to get skis made?

Just kinda curious... seems that none of the 'core' ski companies, (with the exception of LINE/Karhu) even have the capabilities yet of making their own skis. It cant be too much to get a run of skis made...tell em what you want in em, and the attributes (Why not just copy the same exact stuff say... armada puts in their skis) and theyll do it for you. What am i missing here, besides R & D? We could go get the Newschoolers.com pro model made up...

It's not hard at all. In fact, we could call it the 'Bro-Model' and think we're really cool and all about 'soul'. Oh, wait, it's already been done.
Bahahaha... or, you could call it the 'elitist snob' cult. Anyways, my family already owns a country club, so no thanks.

Well, it IS actualy hard. Making your own takes considerable amounts of time, effort, energy, and a not small amount of $$ flow. To have a company make them for you, well, it'd cost a considerable amount to use thei equipment. It's not as easy as just calling them and telling them the shit to use. That takes soem time and effort to find what works.
All in all, it is just a lot harder then you'd think. Making your own is the way to go, but that definitly takes some serious know how and effort.

yea its mad easy if you have huge sums of cash laying around...if not then you have to get investors or a loan. most investors wont invest in a bunch of young inexperienced business kids with an idea that most likely wont return too much profit and most banks wont lend money to a group of kids with no credit history...but like i said if you have the money its alot easier

But there would be no R & D if you just took idea from other companies constructions. Just do basically what they do, tell the manufacturers what they want, and they do it.
Anyone have connections on how to get materials to build some skis with? That site inspired me, I wanna build some in my garage now...
