Don't they post a video of them picking brackets for every cup? I mean you're very right to assume things could be based on sponsors, but volkl is a sponsor of the event, as is monster, but not salomon, or head, or k2.

Those are all some of the biggest brands in skiing. The probability of athletes being matched up against a teammate is really high, especially since Finn is on Volkl and Hugo is on K2.
