It's good for teaching kids proper technique. Plenty of park rats can barely ski to the damn park. The privileged "you can do whatever the fuck you want" vibe at some mountains is lame as fuck though. I don't care how much your parents spent on you racing that season, you and your coach don't own the mtn. Frig off.

Jk but this is fact, at my local the racers have the whole hill and we only have the park and they still cant stay out of it jeez

Yeah it's true, most of the park rats at my local mountain can't ski a green trail to save their life. The ski race team gets priority lift passes so on crowded days they'll make like 4 runs while I'm waiting in the lift line it's super dumb

Every race weekend at our place there is a mob of racers that comes flying through side hitting all of our features. We call it "Side Hit Mania". Some of them are hot though so we tolerate for the opportunity to impress attractive women who ski.

At my mountain racers are less good skiers. and the park rats are always the ones who work for the mountain, liftee, and teach lessons. THe park rats give back. The racers trash the place.

Knew a racer chick when I was in highschool. We were talkin about skiing one day and she got all confused as to why people love pow skiing. Apparently it is slow, and hard to turn in, and ice is way more fun. Chillest racers I've known were the local kids at Targhee. Those kids rip. The kids from out of town were shitheads though. Also, parents and coaches are way worse than the kids. The kids usually get the attitude from them.

my home mtn only has 2 runs worth skiing, and they close one of them every Saturday for racer kids. The worst part is that they only have a junior race team and it’s 8-14 year olds. At the beginning of this season it took them 3 weeks to open the park, which is one of the 2 skiable runs lol, and they still closed the other run for the race kids it was horrible.

Don't a lot of racers do park for fun? So many pros and friends of mine started in racing then went to park cuz they kept going in the park for fun
