Okay ya that makes sense why you're saying that with respect to what I am saying. What I was saying is that given that the layup is the same, a longer ski will not be able to take the same force as a shorter ski. Like basically try snapping a short pencil in your hand vs a long pencil in your hand. But what your saying is the shorter ski is basically a thinner pencil. Makes sense.
But i don't think they do use thinner cores and lay up differently with respect to the length. I can only speak from experience of buying the same ski in different sizes and them still being the same overall thickness. We all know the widths stay the same, we can see that on any ski manufactures website. But for the cores i dont see them using different size cores unless you went to a much smaller version like a youth size. Purchisng all those cores in different size, or having to machine them down would be an absolute nightmere for production in large batch size quantities.
