School sucks boys :(

Just got on spring break and checked my grades for the first time since last week and I went down a letter grade in 3 of my classes. Now I’m stressed out even though I don’t have school for a week and can’t do anything about it. Plus I have the SAT and ap tests coming up, and my mountain is closing next week. Skiing is the only thing that really lets the stress go away completely and now It’s not an option. Should I drop out? Start doing adderall? To all my fellow high school sad bois out there, I believe in you.

Keep trying and work towards improving. You can still pull it together regardless of how late it may seem.

I’ve been there so many times, actually in kind of a similar spot rn, and my best advice is probably remember that you still have time to fix your grades and study for the tests, so don’t worry too much yet (I know that’s impossible haha). But yeah you really still have time with that, I’m with you on the skiing thing though it’s a depressing time rn :(

If you do not have enough self-control to have a hobby and do well at school, then perhaps you should consider just applying yourself to school. It may be a blessing for you that ski season is ending.

hey come on just bc his grades went down doesn’t mean he’s not applying himself, you can work insanely hard and still not be happy with your grades.

My point was that skiing helps me deal with the stress of school, not that it distracts me from it.

honestly just getting baked as fuck all the time and skiing and not taking time to learn how to discipline myself when it comes to school is kinda what got me in a deep hole with school and almost not being able to graduate literally until like 3 weeks before we walked. Just stick it out, honestly. The seasons like immediately right after high school/at the start of college were some of the most fun ones ive had yet and you'll be able to juggle studying and skiing once you get a cool schedule worked out

Have you tried mindfulness exercises and meditating to help relieve stress? Cardio also helps. (Source: Me - College Graduate)

If you are worried about your grades, you must care to some degree about school. The fact that you are in AP classes and are prepping for SATs also tells me that you plan to move forward with your education after high school to some degree.

You're on spring break and say you can't do anything about your grades - it's true you can't change them right this instant but you can take a few hours and brush up on each class that you dropped a letter grade in. Was it a poor test score? Homework/completion credit? Look at what went wrong and try to fix it. For example, if It was something like a test - go back over the material and make sure it makes sense. This may help you if it is math/science/language where the next chapter builds on the previous. If it was a completion grade that you didn't hand in, do the assignment and try to make up some points. This doesn't have to consume your entire break - just a few hours at some point.

Keep up your work dude - you definitely seem to care and are capable, it just might take some added effort.

Also, don't do adderall and don't drop out plz.

Dude for real, sometimes people just aren't suited for school. When I was in high school my parents wouldn't let me ski one season because I got a C in a class. That just made me insanely depressed. Maybe OP need skiing to cope. Skiing is the only reason I survived 4 years of engineering school.

Nah AP and sat tests aren't gonna change with a couple weeks studying. If you're gonna score good, you will regardless. Otherwise you weren't prepared

I've been stress running lately since I haven't been able to make out to the mountains lately, although this means running around at like midnight it was definitely been helping me out. You don't need to be running half marathons or anything, just go out for a 30min jog.

It's hard to think about right now, but (I'm going to be assuming this based off of wanting to do well in your SAT and AP tests) once you slay those tests (which you will), you'll be able to get some more skiing in once you hit post-secondary 100p. Gotta buckle in for the long game.

Dude, high school has a surprising little impact in your future life. Im not saying winging this; in the contrary, put an effort of a lifetime and give up after the examination sessions. I was C student in high school and now making 75k for 6 months of work while living a very happy life.

Just balance out study sessions and ripping up the hill. Even a good bike ride will help you focus if you can only spare an hour. You will do fine OP. Just do your best and you cant regret anything later!

Utah state is a super cheap school, even for out of state. you might have higher standards but theres sick programs here and a sweet ski scene.
