Killington in May?

Yo NS,

I'm thinking about doing a trip to Killington at the end of this semester, and just wondering how the skiing is there in early May? Is there still some kind of park setup, and are there more than just 2 runs open? Or is it not worth going for more than one day?

Not really sure what to expect, any insight is appreciated, Cheers

Idk if still the case but they used to only have a hike park in the spring. Went a few times and was fun but nothing that sweet. Wouldn't have traveled much farther for it. Honestly had more fun setting up rails in the pipe at mt snow.

They haven't had a rail yard in a few years. By may it will be superstar and skylark left for trails

i have very little experience at killy but the one time i went late spring, they had two or 3 runs (one being a big mogul run) and no park features. so idk how typical that was but i can at least tell you that it's not guaranteed that they'll have park stuff

By about 2nd week in May its just superstar, I have heard talk of a superstar rail yard this year but it’s not confirmed.

That's kinda whack cause you could stick some features on very little real estate. But I get it I guess.

I mean the beginning of may theyll usually still have a few runs open, not down to superstar quite yet. Most likely they won’t have any features but it’s always a really good time. It’s warm and vibes are high people partying everywhere you look when it’s sunny. I’d recommend it, it’s a fun time no matter.

The 14th is when most of the mountain is suppose to close except for k1, including the parks. Don’t know if there’s going to be a late season park yet but there should still be a lot of snow around then and all of K1 will be firing, should still have plenty of trails open most likely.

Damn that sucks...

anywhere in the northeast that you think will be better (and have parks)? Reconsidering going to killington haha

mount snow might still have a park, sugarbush usually will still have a late season park at the main mountain around then. not too sure, most gets taken down around the 14th.

NO. I left two days ago and it was rainy and slushy af. The whole week before the groomers had a lot of ice patches. Parks and bumps and trees were fun as always but now? It sucks, don’t go.

Also Superstar fucking blows.

sometimes superstar is good but other times idk
i went last year around march and it was 0 visability
i almost ran into people on every turn cause i couldnt see

Superstar is fucking sick, once it’s late April there are always booters and the bumps are mad fun. Also they just fixed up most of the parks features and completely rebuilt the rail garden in dream maker which is one of the best builds in a while.
