Street wear to skate wear or vice versa?

So we all know most fashion trends start in fashion obviously, after that it goes directly to influencers such as A$AP Rocky and $uicideboy$... but after that it becomes blurred in between Skateboarders and casual street wear. we know that skiers are at the bottom, as they usually catch onto apparel trends a little later than the rest.

Do skateboarders follow what’s trending on the streets or do the streets follow skateboarding trends? Are they somehow intertwined since Skateboarding is an art of Urban Expression?!

I feel like street wear takes a ton from skateboarding, but skateboarding is going through their own trends that street wear is too blind to notice.

As far as ski wear, it’s all been downhill since the G Suit. That was the peak of freeski style.

I feel like for the most part skiers don't care "whats in style", just wear whatever is cool or what you can afford. I skate too and just throw on a dope shirt and wear whatever won't leave me sweating balls. If I'm sending some crazy shit ill wear khakis/ a sweatshirt for a little protection between my skin and the asphalt. I feel like for the most part skiers and skaters have nothing to prove with their outfits, we don't really feel the need to impress anyone.

And for the streetwear fashion trends...... Basically spend $300 on a shirt, $1500 on jeans, $800 in shoes and a few grand in jewelry and youll get notice by people. Spending insane amounts of money on clothes is no way of expressing yourself, its just showing your wealth that might not even exist

Considering thrasher and supreme are both skate outerwear I think most mainstream style comes from skating

Trends only make their way to skiing once skateboarding and snowboarding have had their way with them.

If only skiers were brave enough to make their own trends.
