I smell you vegans cooking up a good conversion post. I'm gonna stop you right there. A better use of your time would be to post your favorite bomb ass recipes in here so that us heathens can maybe try to work in some meals each week.

I could (and might) go on and on about my perspective of all of this. I have worked in construction my whole life (part of it being direct ski industry related) and I am no environmentalist by any means. But....

Plastic bags and blue tarps drive me nuts, both are the most white-trash things in the world. I hate seeing these things anywhere. I imagine the obese dude loading 2 liter soda bottles that are double bagged into his 99 explorer while he hobbles around. Just to drive to his shithole house that has a dozen broken lawnmowers being covered from the elements under a blue tarp.

Also another earthy idea: go plant a tree. Whether it's a hardwood, or a fruit tree, etc idc just do it. It's quite satisfying when they actually grow and mature. Maple trees are easy. Those fuckers take root so easy and I always kill em with the lawnmower. Just transplant the seedlings to your desired location and protect from deer til they're big enough to handle it. I've also managed to germinate a lemon, clementine, two apple trees, and an avocado tree all from store bought produce lol.

Nice thread OP and I agree 100%. Im sick of people running around acting like they are saving the world by having a smaller 'carbon footprint' meanwhile we found plastic bags in the deepest ocean trench, seabirds are feeding bits of plastic to their babies, there is mercury in the entire marine ecosystem, WWIII will most likely be fought over fresh water resources, and kids are inundated with estrogen mimicking chemicals from plastic bottles and chemical fertilizers etc. Hell there is a kid that literally cant go to High School because Axe body spray will kill him. Not to mention we now have this giant "Trans Movement' smokescreen to cover for the fact that we have completely messed up a generations's endocrine system and gender identity with this chemical soup. If we spent 10% of the political and media will that we waste on "Climate Change" we could actually make a difference.

I don't shower because that would be wasting water.

I even called Keurig out on their k-cups that the majority of people just toss in the trash (been bugging me for a while). They really should just make them biodegradable cuz 100% compliance with recycling is impossible. They only have to last for one brew so I don't see the big deal. Here's their response lol. · We’re investing to support more effective municipal recycling: We know we can only reach our 2020 target if the recycling infrastructure is strengthened overall, and we can’t tackle that alone. Solutions will need to involve municipal governments, companies, consumers, and recyclers. We recently joined with Walmart, the Walmart Foundation, and other global companies in the Closed Loop Fund, with the goal of making recycling available to all Americans. The Fund aims to invest $100 million in recycling infrastructureprojects and spur private and public funding for transforming the recycling system in the United States.

Keurig machines for home use is literally the stupidest thing I have seen in a long time. They even came out with refillable pods to save on waste which basically turns it into a really crappy/expensive traditional coffee brewer.

Yeah the refillable pods are garbage. I have a couple different ones and they don't work as good. I have a coffee drip cone as well as a French press and use those more often than not.

Lol I watched a documentary on this and some guy spent like $20,000 on a special gyroscope to prove the earth was not spinning but the device actually output the rotation of the earth proving him wrong and the guys that run his channel were kind of freaking out about it.

One one good way to make your carbon footprint to literally zero is killing self

Canada loves to gloat about their progressive environmental policies. Meanwhile, the government of Saskatchewan and Ontario are suing the federal government to reverse the carbon tax plan. Their environmental policy is lets keep going the wrong way and see what happens.

Working on the ship gives me a great accuracy on consumption. For a crew of 16, the ship would consume 220KW steady; thats a fuel rate of 1Ton of diesel every 36 hrs. We use 6 Tons of fresh water every day. A ship produces 1 Ton of sludge every week and a full trash container every week. This is to move products all around the world, so its a sacrifice to the environment.

Blow this scale up to 2 million people and you can see how much resources are required to make mouth breather not die from hunger. When coming up with environment plan that include an economic aspect, you have to think in these scales. Every little action done by a majority of people compounded in scale makes a huge difference.

Im always examining myself and my interactions with the environment. Its easy to say you care about the environment but actions are what makes a change. Trying to draw my personal line is something I struggle with.

turning the shower on before you get in wastes so much water, but getting into a cold shower sucks big time.

I should really leave things unplugged from the wall when they arent in use, but how practical is it to plug something in everytime you want to use it? odd objects that are easily accessible- sure. But am I really going to move my couch everytime I want to use the lamp next to it? Probably not.
Also, have there been any studies done on how vegans have affected the meat industry over the years? Just becase you dont eat meat dosent necessarily mean the grocery store is gonna stock any less. Are they making an impact or is it just something they can personally be self righteous about?
