Boot toe moving in Look Pivot WTR toepiece

My boot soles are worn, especially my toes. But I’ve had at least 6 or 7 people try my skis and their boots move in the toepiece too. The toepieces of the bindings look fine, nothing broken. But my boot toe will move back and forth a couple mm. If I’m standing still and put my ski on edge I can see and feel it moving. What should I do about this

Up and down movement? Side to side? Front to back...I hope not?

It’s a mixture of side to side and up and down. If I move my boot the way the ski would get up on edge, it moves. But if I move my boot side to side, as when making a wedge or something, it doesn’t move.

If you have a model with a height-adjustable AFD, is it possible that the AFD is either set to the wrong position or the adjustment mechanism is broken?

I have the same problem in 2018 Pivot 14 WTRs. I made a thread and posted pics. The consensus is that this is just the wau they are designed and there isn't shit you can do about it. I also have some 2019 Pivot 14 gripwalks on another pair of skis and the problem is non-existent with the same boots. Its really lame.

In these bindings there is no AFD adjustment.

The Pivot 'Dual WTR' models all feature a two-position AFD height adjustment, it's only the most recent 'GW' models that have a static AFD that accommodates both GripWalk and Alpine.

Ghetto fix but you can try supergluing an old season pass or hotel key card to the afd on the part where it is flat. It won't last forever but it could get you through to the end of the season.

I had the same problem with my spx 12s. I fixed it by adjusting the forward presuure (move the heel piece forward a notch or two). This should fix it.

This is a forward pressure issue. make sure the white bar on the heel piece lines up with the two raised marks on the heel piece. if they dont you need to adjust the heel.

Yeah, but what I mean is that if you're set on Alpine, and you have an Alpine sole in there, there is no way to adjust the afd.

This may be a trip to the local shop. They'll be able to have a look and solve the issue. Does sound like a forward pressure issue (as others have stated).

A boot sole moving around in the toe piece is not a forward pressure issue.

how is it not? if the boot isn't pushed completely into the toe there would be movement.

The boot is pushed forward and the forward pressure is where it should be and there IS STILL movement inside the toe piece. It is not fore-aft movement, it is movement up down and side to side. It is a defect of this particular version of the Pivot, and was remedied in the 18/19 AW version.
