Off-brand/Budget vs Name-Brand/Expensive Goggles

What's everyone opinion on goggle expenditure? I have friends that swear by $200 pairs and I have friends that swear by $40 pairs.
Do you think you can you get a budget pair of goggles in the $20 - $50 range that is comparable to a $100+ pair? If so, what are you sacrificing with the price difference? If not, why not?
I personally think there is a good middle ground: somewhere in the $80 range usually gets me a good, comfortable pair. With that being said, I feel like it all comes down to preference: if a $20/$200 pair fits you good and works for you, then use what works.

People swear by $25 goggles because they have never used quality goggles with quality lenses.
However you can get $125-$200 goggles regularly for like $60-$100 on the interwebs.

Honestly good quality optics make so much of a difference for me.
Went through the crowbar phase like 10 years ago and got used to how good Oakley lenses were.
Then got some spy’s (before their happy lenses) and thought they were ok. But every time I’d have to switch back to my crumbling/scratched crowbars it was like holy shit I can see so much better.
Picked up some pricier smiths this season ($170 CAD) and it’s night and day. I forget they’re on and I can see so clearly. Worth the extra $50ish easy. That’s like one less night at the bar to be able to see better for years.
Same with sunglasses. Good brands enhance your experience seeing the world while cheap/free ones almost always detract.
