I think an unbuttoned flannel shirt can look cool, but open jackets just look stupid to me whenever i see it.

I unzip it if I'm too hot, I keep it zipped normally or if I'm cold.

Pretty much standard jacket usage. I think what you're referring too is if something becomes uncomfortable but you're doing it just for "style".

I'll wear anything coat, jacket hoodie, tshirt, or naked depending on whether and occasion.

If you land switch it looks like you’re wearing a cape. It also slows you down a little bit especially if it’s a heavier jacket.
