Backyard.Skierhey everybody looking to come to mt hood around mid april and was wondering where we should stay? (Bend or maybe closer) we have a vehicle to sleep in if its super cold but have tents and winter sleeping gear for early spring conditions. Anybody wanna hook up a whistler kid with some details or maybe good spots to pull up and checkout? Also if anyone has cheap tickets or just wants to meet up around the hill or in Oregon that'd be dope! thanks
Yo Yo! if you plan on gettin the meadows spring pass ill meet up and shred and can show you around meadows. Been there for 3 seasons now. As far as car campin theres a lot of options in the spring. If you get a t line spring pass like mentioned above tline parking lot is great. That 1 day policy gets stretched a lot. This early into spring not a lot of forest roads will be thawed so you'll have to head down the mountain unless youre cool with parking lots around Govy!
If you get a meadows pass you can make the drive from hood river which is the side i would stay, way more stuff goin on than staying in govy forest roads or even lower like lolo pass. which is still a cool spot. HR will have all the town shit thats cool, and youll be closer to better downtime stuff like hiking, skating, fishing etc. a bit warmer too, especially if you head out dalles or even mosier.
Also ya wouldn't stay in Bend even though Bend is a sick spot and Bachelor parks in the spring are fuckin fun. Bend is just hella far away. I'd say pick a place you want a spring pass and post up in hood river! can't go wrong on that side.
Sounds like you've done your research on spring passes from the other thread, but yeah Meadows has been absolutely killing it with parks. Final jump right now is sitting at 60ft w plenty of pop. A lot more rails will be coming through. no flow park which sucks. I think for the crowd ratio meadows is doin a great job at keeping up w tline. But yeah ultimately tline will be a few weeks longer before they head up the glacier.
hope to catch some laps!
