Replying to New Ski Shapes (Triple Rocker Moment)
Triple Rocker and other ski shapes Moment is making are great. The Moment Frankenski has Triple Rocker (basically its flat together in the middle and behind and in front of the bindings its like a bubble then the tip/tail if that makes sense) so is it the next big thing or just another ski shape? Moment describes it as : "Rocker at the tip and tail, low center camber, and two sections of micro-camber embedded in front of and behind the binding. Rocker and low camber let the ski surf and slash in powder, while the micro-camber sections create focused edge pressure on hardpack for carving." To any other dumbass like me it doesn't make sense but it looks cool, but once you ski it it makes sense. Its like the pressure makes the ski into a full rockered ski with tips and tails and they just float, the contact points on the snow are great, you can surface spin on really anything and not catch. It also really excels in pow (even tho the Frank isn't a pow ski) they perform really well for a 92 waist ski. What is the best shape and how do you like Triple Rocker and if you haven't tried it what are your thoughts?
