piffpalsDrawing a blank on exactly who it was but a snowboarder gapped a half pipe at hood a while back. It was back in the day and In the summer they cut them tight to start so they could melt out so it wasn't like a 50-foot air but it was a proper ollie.

pinkcamo1000Are you talking about a pipe gap? There are sick pipe gaps in teddy bear crisis and stereotype. They were only really popular for a hot second in the early 2000s. Mike Wilson throws a Wilson Flip (aka Dub 10) over the pipe gap in TBC

BigPurpleSkiSuitWait a second that's big emma. Snowbird used to have a park? With a pipe?oh shit dont tell zane kushman
weastcoastCome absolutely FLYING into a the backside of a half pipe, preferably a 18-22 footer, use it as a ramp, hit it perpendicular ish to the way the pipe goes, gap the entire pipe, and land on the backside. When I say “backside”, I am referring to the outside of the walls that aren’t groomed or anything and they’re usually at a 45 ish degree angle.
theabortionatorThe fact that pipes are 18-18.5 degrees and decks are generally narrow makes it near impossible. Even if the decks were trail height it would be ridiculously tough because dead flat gap as the decks are even. Could be possible but pretty risky without at least a little tiny booter of some sort to add a little height into the mix. I don't think you could do it with skis without, and a board even probably not.
I guess it depends on the setup the person, the terrain. If there was a sidehill you could come down from to get a better angle. I know some places would build their pipe decks sloped away a bit t save snow back in the day but that probably hasn't been a thing since like 2000. That would give ya a little lift.
Also as mentioned would have to be early season when the pipe is tight. I love a big ollie but I wouldn't fuck with that
freeskibum82see the link i posted above. it was done at stratton years ago by a snowboarder, 110ft and those decks were pretty flat as it was the pipe used for the US Open over on Supertrail
