Mountain-oriented jib ski to complement Kartel 108

This season I got some K108s as my ski for riding all over BC, put shifts on them and have been riding them 50/50 resort and backcountry.
Plan was to ski my old bacons and ar6s on the small local hills for jibby days but I love the K108 too much that I end up just riding them instead. But since I want to keep the edges pristine I find myself passing up rails I'd like to hit in the park on those days.

So now I'm looking for a ski that can ride solid and fast on heavy/variable coastal snow like the K108, but maybe be a bit more light/nimble since they’re not going to see many real lines, and still be poppy and durable enough to hit some jumps and rails every couple laps.

I'm getting older and my days of spinning onto/off rails are probably pretty much done. When I do take them in the park these will be for slower floaty spins and more flowy rail tricks - I don't need some crazy low swing weight to dial in anything technical. I also don't butter much and find the new wave thing pretty cringe to be honest.

Backstory aside - I was thinking Moment PB&Jibs would be perfect and after chatting with one of the dudes there I'm sold. But they're not gonna be making them next year so in the event I can't get my shit together in time to snag a pair what else would you folks recommend?

Regular PB&J? K96? Magnus 102 (or even 90)? Something else?

Check out the J skis All Play. I’ve been on it for awhile and it is an amazing ski. 98 underfoot with a good bit of tip and tail rocker so you get some float. It’s marketed as an all mtn jib ski and it nails that.

Allplays are super fun as an all mountain park ski but I don't think it works well for "a ski that can ride solid and fast on heavy/variable coastal snow"

If you like how Kartel's ride I would just get those. PB&J would probably be a good choice too, probably a little less playful than a k96 but I think its damper (I haven't skied a PB&J in forever so maybe they've updated it.)

Sego Big Horn 96's could be another option but I've never skied them.

Thanks guys. Hmm yeah all good points to consider. Like how similarly do I want it to ride if I’m shelling out all that money for another pair of skis right? K96 is a safe bet but some variety seems like a nice idea too.

You could look at the Moment Frankenski, it has their triple camber and i think they're making it 98 underfoot next season, I ski in Colorado but I think that might be my next park/early season all mountain ski.

Another idea is just hitting rails on your K108's and then replace them (Or make it your dedicated rail/rock ski) when the edges get beat up.

Frank looks super fun but the whole symmetrical thing has me a bit wary since my days on invaders - and how nice it felt to get on a ski with a narrower tail afterwards. I feel like they'd be just a touch toooo park specific for this use, as fun as I'm sure they'd be. PB&J is probably more what I really want in the long run.

And yeah I considered just riding the current ones, but I've got a beautiful veneer topsheet on them and the edges are so good right now I don't want to lose that as soon as I start riding rails on em.

Still intrigued with the thought that the K96 might still be different enough. Being 12mm skinnier and over half a kg lighter per pair I'm sure they'd feel different right? I think I'd likely even size down to 181 from the 186 K108 too so the swing weight would be even lower.
Likely more solid around the mountain than a magnus 102 also?

The Magnus 102 would be a definite departure from the style of ski and skiing you describe. I'd look for a used Kartel 96 or 98, sell the bacons and ar6's.

Arv 96s are pretty comparable and a super sick ski. Also graphics on em are fire

the new Faction Prodigy 2.0 (19/20) would be a great option for you! stiffer than the CT 2.0, and directional. Its a whole design that we are really excited about. you should give it a look :)
